![]() ![]() The Club averages only one or two dogs per year that need to be rehomed. ![]() Cavaliers come into Rescue for many reasons but often it is an older person, who is no long able to care for their pet. Health is paramount above all else, and all the dogs in our breeding program are health tested and OFA certified prior to breeding. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Canada will occasionally be contacted requesting help to rehome a Cavalier. Our ultimate goal is to produce puppies that do this wonderful, loving breed justice in both looks and personality. We have since developed our own breeding program where we strive to produce quality puppies as we search for our next show prospect. We were fortunate to meet some amazing people who were willing to help us get started in the breed, and it is largely due to their influence and encouragement that we were able to pursue our passion of showing dogs. We purchased our first Cavalier shortly afterwards and dove into actively showing Conformation. The long ears and bright, round eyes were too much too resist. Our first impression of these wonderful dogs came in the form of a Cavalier gazing adorably up at its handler while they waited ring side for their class to begin. When we became interested in larger events and began showing in AKC events, we encountered our first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Sporting a silky, flowing coat that comes in four distinct colorsBlenheim, tricolor, black & tan, and rubythese charming dogs carry with them a noble history, having been favorites among British royalty. Our introduction to the sport began when Rheanna started showing her Shetland Sheepdog in our local 4-H club. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a small, elegant toy breed known for its expressive, large round eyes and gentle demeanor. We are a mother-daughter team who have a passion for raising and showing dogs. King Charles II was the inspiration for Cavalier King Charles spaniels as he owned and was painted with similar small dogs. ![]() Rogue Valley Cavaliers is located in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon.
